This is a very attractive car with a few nice extra items of specification! The new generation of 9-3 convertible does not exhibit any of those minor irritations that old 9-3 and other similar convertibles of a 1990's design are known for! It is a car that was designed from the floor up as a convertible, rather than one that was based on a three door coupe where the designers simply re-engineered the existing car by cutting of its roof and strengthening the floor pan, in all a very easy comfortable and fun car to drive! The new model 9-3 Convertible is a very impressive car, they are effortless to drive, have a hood mechanism that needs no hand operated mechanical latches and which only requires the use of the one button to either lower or raise it in only a very few seconds. This car has the 175 bhp version of Saabs 1998 cc B207 turbo charged petrol engine, all the Saab 2.0 petrol cars of this model use the B207 engine, however the engine came in three states of tune, the 150 BHP 1.8t, the 175 BHP 2.0t and the 210 bhp Aero version, the difference between the 150 BHP car and the 175 BHP car is the engine mapping which on the 175 bhp car delivers more power, the 210 BHP Aero has a different turbo charger and engine mapping. Many dealers advertise the 150 bhp version as 2.0t’s when in fact the car is a 1.8t, for a prospective buyer the easy way to tell the difference between the two versions is that the 175 bhp car has a turbo gauge at the top of the right hand dial in the instrument binnacle while the 150 bhp car does not, as the 1.8t badging can always be changed or removed.
The car has had a total of 6 Saab dealer services, four performed by Westbury Garage (Saab) one by Greenhouse Saab and the most recent Saab service was performed by Gloucester Saab at 59,457 miles in August 2014, since then because of his wife’s very low annual mileage of around 1,000 miles a year the car has been maintained by the last owners mechanic with some maintenance also performed by the Saab Service Centre Baylis of Cheltenham and Gloucester Garage. As part of the cars preparation for its next owner the car will be checked over by my preferred local to me Saab specialists JP Auto Solutions of Bristol and any maintenance recommended by them performed, the car is currently MOT tested until the 4th of June 2019, there are no advisories on that MOT!
My business is centred on my home in Oldbury on Severn near Thornbury in rural South Gloucestershire some fifteen miles north of Bristol and twenty miles south of Gloucester, a pleasant and quiet location with the benefit of very good motorway access to all parts of the country.
Mark Arnold consists of myself and my wife Lorraine, we have been heavily involved in the Saab product for well over twenty years, and for the last 15 years our business has been virtually 100 percent Saab, that said if you have a non-Saab part exchange then that is not normally a problem, we can always talk about a deal. You will find doing business with me very informal and relaxed, no pressure just nice cars well-presented and marketed by a dealer with a great deal of experience of the Saab brand and very knowledgeable about the stock he has to offer! Every Saab is appraised, test driven, purchased and then sold by myself, consequently I am fully involved in every part of the process. Each car is carefully prepared for sale, thoroughly checked over and where appropriate fully serviced by highly qualified and experienced Saab technicians, there is a strong emphasis on ensuring that each vehicle will give its next owner a pleasant long term Saab experience.
