First registered on the 3rd of March 2011 (11) this a Saab Great Britain and one subsequent private keeper 50,000 mile car, finished in Arctic White with a Black leather interior a Black Hood and the Saab Business Pack Satellite Navigation and Bluetooth Connectivity System.

Specification includes, the superb Saab 1.9 litre 180 bhp twin turbo diesel engine, the Saab 6 speed Sentronic Automatic gearbox, 18 inch Saab Alloy wheels ABS, Climate Control with Air Conditioning, the Saab Convenience Pack, Cruise Control, colour coded Toneau and door trims, drivers and front seat passengers front and side Air-bags, Electric Hood, electrically adjustable mirrors with powered fold in, heated front seats, headlamp wash, the Saab "Roll Over Protection" system, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), the Saab remote control central locking, immobiliser and alarm system. Xenon Lighting, The Saab Business Pack Satellite Navigation and Bluetooth Connectivity System, a Saab Audio system with multi waveband radio, CD player, auxiliary IPod and MP3 player input with steering wheel mounted radio and audio controls and the Saab Rear Park Assist.

The 9-3 Aero turbo diesel uses the superb 180 bhp version of Saab's DTR twin turbo TTiD power unit, this engine is designed to provide instant throttle response throughout the rev range. Two turbochargers, one small, one large, are used. When the driver presses the throttle, the smaller turbo is able to react faster than the bigger unit, so from idle to 1,500rpm, it is used. From there, the second turbocharger is brought into play, while from 3,000rpm on, the larger one works on its own. The engine produces a very useful 400 nm of torque between 1850 and 2750 rpm that works very well with the Saab Automatic Transmission giving the car a very responsive mid-range acceleration and making for a very relaxed driving technique.

For those who like Automatic Gearboxes but prefer to have more input into the way the car drives, this model has the Saab Sentronic automatic transmission, "Sentronic" allows you to change gears in a manual clutch-less mode using two paddles on the steering wheel, the right one for up shifts and the left one for downshifts, when the paddle shift mode is selected the centre console mounted auto gear selector can also be used for this purpose, a small movement forwards for up shifts and the same backwards for downshifts, personally being a person of a certain age I prefer to leave the car in its normal fully automatic mode and let the car do the rest.

The 9-3 convertible is by far the most practical of the "Rag Tops" a very comfortable four seater that easily has more usable space than its competitors, driving a convertible always involves a degree of compromise between what is functional and what is fun, however the 9-3 keeps these compromises to the minimum. The hood mechanism is both very quick and easy to use, requiring the touch of just one switch to both lower and raise it, the hood is locked in place automatically and has no clumsy mechanical latches to manually fasten. Very late model Saab 9-3 Aero Diesel Automatic Convertibles with a low mileage are very few and far between, there will not be many of these left to be found. The Saab Business Pack and the Saab Convenience Pack would have added around £2,500 to the cars retail price when new.

The car was acquired by its only subsequent private keeper just eight months after Saab Great Britain registered it as one of their own vehicles, the car preparation will include a Main Service and a full inspection that will be performed by my preferred local independent Saab trained Saab service and repair specialists JPAutos of Bristol www.jpautosbristol.co.uk A copy of this inspection report and copy invoicing for the service and any maintenance regarded as either necessary or desirable as a result of the inspection will form part of the vehicles paperwork for your appraisal , the car will also be MOT tested.

With a CO2 emissions of 162 GM/KM this vehicles annual rate of VED (road tax) is £195, the six month charge is £107.25p.
